I have been past this restaurant several times and decided to venture in and check out the fare on the menu. To start off it's a very nicely lit restaurant and quite spacious. You can dine either in the dining room or at the bar with plenty of flat screens to view various broadcasts.
We arrived around 12 pm on a Monday and there wasn't much of a crowd but service was prompt and efficient by all standards. The menu had a nice array of choices and also noted on the wall was the daily special. Our drink of choice to start with was soda and by the way there's no charge for refills (I had 5 myself). After perusing the fare we decided on an appetizer selecting sampler egg rolls comprised of Irish, Reuben, and Southwestern. These egg rolls came with a choice of two sauces we chose Honey Mustard & Thousand Island. The other sauce selections were Chipotle and Jalapeno Ranch. They were served hot and were quite delicious and tasty. (PS, the picture below is only one of three pages filled with food choices.)
Now for the main lunch order I had a club sandwich (I chose the Turkey, Ham, and Roast Beef option) and choice of cheese or you could have only one meat type if you desire. Well what can I say but ginormous is the best description of the food resting on the plate in before me. I'm no small guy, but I found it hard to even get my mouth to stretch to bite into these sandwich quarters of extreme size. Also it came with a pickle and chips which it really didn't need since it was a meal in and of itself.
Now my dining partner decided on the Mexican pizza, which was not listed on the menu, but was one of the specials for "Mexican Monday". It was approximately the shape and size of a deli/sub roll, though it was on a pizza crust. Covered in salsa, ground beef, cheese, and decorated with raw red onion and jalapeno chips, it was a little greasy but that is to be expected with your typical preparation of ground beef for tacos. Had to ask for sour cream, but two containers were promptly provided.
Despite it being lunch, we decided to try their dessert specialty, the Dun Loggin. As we remembered to take pictures sometime in the middle of lunch (after we had already started eating), we took a picture of the dessert when it came out.
It was very rich, but delicious, filled with sweetened cream cheese and chocolate chips (though peanut butter chips are also available). Especially after such a large lunch, it was plenty for both of us to share.
Though we have not attended, Dun Dealgan apparently has trivia competitions on Wednesday nights and Cards Against Humanity tournaments on Sundays. Both result in prizes for the winning player/team. Not sure about the trivia nights (as we were told about it by the waitress/bartender and neglected to ask her), but there are drink and appetizer specials on Game Night Sundays.
I would like to thank our waitress Lynn for her prompt and efficient service while dining at Dun Dealgan. The location of this fine eating establishment is where Delvale ave. & Sollers Point Rd. meet. You can enter via either road into a more than ample parking lot.
Try this local restaurant and see why Dundalk (DunDock by the locals) has some of the best eating places in the greater Baltimore area.
Our total bill was $36 which wasn't bad considering the unlimited soda refills (5) for me and (2) for my dining partner.
